Bounded-Email Inbox-Zero Whisper

What was built

A tablet-bound morning card that lists every thread currently BLOCKING the agent from sending — pending (account, to) pairs from bounded-email state — with the original outbound summary and a one-tap ack URL per row. Right now blocked threads pile up silently in ~/.local/state/bounded-email/ and Ethan only discovers them when an agent fails mid-task; this surfaces the queue proactively each morning so he can ack stale ones over coffee on the e-ink tablet.

How it works

Create ~/bin/bounded-email-tablet-whisper (bash, ~80 lines): (1) shell out to `bounded-email-status --json` to enumerate pending (account, to, threadId, sent_at) entries; (2) for each threadId, call gws CLI with the matching account config dir to fetch Subject + 2-line snippet of the last outbound message (`gmail users messages get --params '{"userId":"me","id":"","format":"metadata"}'`); (3) render a single-page HTML card (reuse the scannable-share-doc cream/gold styling) with one row per blocked thread showing age-in-days, account, recipient, subject, snippet, and a big tap target linking to `https://tablet-sync.braceyourself.solutions/ack/` (tiny new endpoint that shells `bounded-email-ack ` server-side); (4) drop the HTML into ~/Tablet/inbox/ so tablet-sync ships it to the TCL e-ink device; (5) cron at 06:30 daily, skip render if zero pending. Add bats test that seeds a fake state file and asserts the HTML contains the threadId + ack URL.

- `~/bin/bounded-email-tablet-whisper` (84 lines, executable) — reads `bounded-email-status --json`, fetches Subject + ~240-char snippet per thread via `gws gmail users threads get` against the right account config dir, renders a cream/gold single-page HTML to `~/Tablet/inbox/bounded-email-whisper-YYYY-MM-DD.html`. One row per blocked thread: age in days, account, recipient, subject, snippet, and a full-width "Ack & unblock" tap target linking to `https://tablet-sync.braceyourself.solutions/ack/<threadId>`. Skips writing if zero pending.
- `~/bin/bounded-email-tablet-whisper.bats` (4 tests, all green) — empty pending = no file, one pending = HTML contains threadId/ack URL/recipient/account/subject/age, multiple pending = one ack link per row, HTML escaping defuses `<script>` in subject.

**Cron** — `30 6 * * * /home/ethan/bin/bounded-email-tablet-whisper >> /home/ethan/.cache/bounded-email-tablet-whisper.log 2>&1` (sits 30min before the existing `bounded-email-tablet-brief` 07:00 markdown variant; the two are complementary — brief is stale-only grouped markdown, whisper is all-pending HTML with tap targets).

**Live verification** — ran against current state, produced 3-row card for the actual blocked threads (admin→ethan@bys, admin→ethanabrace, personal→kristin@exi) with real Gmail snippets pulled via the gws CLI.
