The innovation engine proposes a tool every run but nothing remembers which ideas got built versus quietly forgotten — so good ideas evaporate. This logs every proposal to a ledger, then weekly resurfaces the single oldest still-unbuilt idea as an e-ink tablet card, closing the loop on the engine's own output so Ethan actually revisits what it dreamed up.
Add a 3-line tee in the innovation-engine service wrapper to append each proposal JSON (with an ISO date stamped at write time) to ~/.local/state/innovation-engine/ledger.jsonl. Create ~/bin/innovation-idea-resurface (bash + jq, ~70 lines): read the ledger, and for each idea derive a slug from its title; mark it BUILT if a matching script exists in ~/bin (fuzzy grep on slug tokens) or a matching dir exists under ~/; pick the oldest UNBUILT idea, and render it to ~/Tablet/innovation-resurface-$(date +%F).md as a clean card (title, description, the 'connects' systems as a checklist). Add a weekly cron line via the safe-append pattern: '0 7 * * 1 ~/bin/innovation-idea-resurface'. Ship with a bats test asserting the BUILT/UNBUILT heuristic and that a tablet card file is written.
**What I built**
- **`~/bin/innovation-idea-resurface`** (87 lines, bash + jq, executable) — reads the proposal ledger, classifies each idea as BUILT (a matching script in `~/bin` or matching folder under `~/`, via filtered slug-token matching) or UNBUILT, then writes the single **oldest unbuilt** idea to `~/Tablet/innovation-resurface-<date>.md` as a clean e-ink card: title, "still unbuilt N days later", description, and the *connects* systems as a checklist.
- **`~/bin/innovation-idea-resurface.test.sh`** — 7 bats tests covering the BUILT/UNBUILT heuristic (skip built, pick oldest unbuilt, dir-match, no over-reach to newer ideas), the connects checklist, and the no-ledger exit. All 7 pass.
- **Ledger tee in `engine.py`** — 5 lines added right where the engine selects its proposal: appends each idea (plus a date stamp) to `~/.local/state/innovation-engine/ledger.jsonl`. Syntax-checked; the existing build flow is untouched.
- **Weekly cron** — `0 7 * * 1 ~/bin/innovation-idea-resurface` (Mondays 7am), installed idempotently.
**Verification**
- RED → GREEN: tests failed before the script existed, all 7 pass now.
- E2E: a ledger line written in the *exact* shape the engine's tee produces flowed through the real script and rendered a correct card (day-count and checklist both right).
