Ethan's recent sessions are full of pasted screenshots from ~/.claude/image-cache, and he already has cleanup-screenshots, but nothing links a screenshot to the decision it produced. This indexes every image dropped into a Claude session against the session's goal ledger entry, so 'that screen with the elements to remove' becomes searchable months later instead of an orphaned PNG.
Create ~/bin/screenshot-provenance-index: a bash+jq script that walks ~/.claude/projects/*/**.jsonl for user messages containing image-cache paths, extracts the surrounding 200 chars of prompt text plus the session id, and appends {image, session, project, prompt_snippet, mtime} lines to ~/.claude/state/screenshot-index.jsonl.
